Because I think in Pangea the majority of the population was made up from dinosaurs after the evolution (of reptiles that is) took place, and I believe they were extinct during the volcanoes causing the continental drift...I guess...

but oh well, I have these sketches of your Earth hugging a little baby Pangea, I can upload them once I get them scanned if you like ^^
